Funding received for downtown summer concert series
Our Town Coshocton would like to announce the receipt of $40,000 from The Charles E. and Dorothy S. Bechtol Fund of the Coshocton Foundation to fund a downtown concert series this summer.
The idea of a downtown concert series began with Councilman Chad Johnson last year when he discussed it at city council. Councilman Johnson and OTC Director Lanny Spaulding have since been seeking funding for this project and are pleased to announce the Bechtol Fund through the Coshocton Foundation has generously provided the means to bring this to fruition.
“The receipt of these monies to pursue a downtown concert series will provide a large boost to an already energized Main Street. It is our intention to book between three to four acts to go alongside existing planned events for this coming summer. When you consider the pending approval of a designated outdoor refreshment area among the other success stories from Main Street so far this year (100K in Paul Bruhn Grant funding, Our Town Shop hops, and the coming St Patrick’s pub crawl with Roscoe); Coshocton is truly more than just a location, it is an experience. This summer concert series will further our efforts and that of Mayor Mills and city council to bolster our downtown,” Spaulding said.
Spaulding and Johnson are working with Variety Attractions out of Zanesville Ohio to book a number of acts to attach at the end of existing events. OTC will announce these events in the very near future.

We are stronger together when we collaborate for a common goal,” Spaulding said. “Finally, the Coshocton Foundation, through the Bechtol fund, has provided essential financial backing to allow new ideas that benefit the community to come forward. We look forward to an exciting summer downtown.”
