Genesis to build new medical center in Coshocton

Genesis HealthCare System is building a new healthcare facility in Coshocton called the Genesis Coshocton Medical Center. This will be a state-of-the-art facility utilizing superior clinical information technology, advanced clinical equipment and the latest in healthcare facility design to create the optimum patient experience. Expected to open in early 2023, the Genesis Coshocton Medical Center will be located at 48119 US 36, across from Wal-Mart.

“We are excited to bring convenient access to high-quality, advanced healthcare provided by the best physicians, nurses, technologist and support staff to the residents of Coshocton County,” said Matthew Perry, president and CEO, Genesis HealthCare System. “This project signifies Genesis’ deep commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of Coshocton residents close to home.”

The Genesis Coshocton Medical Center will have 60,000 square feet of floor space in a one-story structure that features a modern design with amenities to enhance the patient experience. Services available include an emergency department, outpatient surgery center, overnight patient observation unit, imaging department, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiac diagnostics, respiratory therapy, physical, occupational and speech therapies, and a medical office building for physician specialists. The facility will be staffed by 200 plus full-time employees.

The project will cost $45 million and is supported in part by gifts from the Montgomery Foundation, the Coshocton Foundation, and the Genesis HealthCare Foundation. Architects are APG and PhiloWilke, and the builder/construction team is Danis. Also involved are Sands Decker as the civil engineer and Heapy as the MEP engineer. Groundbreaking is expected to take place in July 2021.
