George Adam Gress Jr.

George Adam Gress Jr. 68, of Coshocton, passed away at 1:05 P.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

Born November 22, 1945 in Adamsville, George was the son of the late George Adam and Doris Fern (Richards) Gress, Sr.

George served in the U. S. Navy from October 26, 1965 to October 10, 1969 on the USS Winston during the Vietnam era.  Until becoming disabled in 1997, George was employed as a Machine Operator at Mineral Fiber for 20 years.

A Lutheran by faith, George loved to spend time with his grandchildren.  He spoiled his two dogs Pippie, Molly; and feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard brought much enjoyment to him.

He truly will be missed by his wife Shirley Ann (Walker) Gress whom he married June 11, 1971; a son Chad Adam (Amanda) Gress; two daughters Tina M. (Jason) Blair, Holly L. (Albert) Burke all of Coshocton; ten grandchildren; a brother John Gress of Conesville; five sisters Louise Wiggins of West Lafayette, Garnet (Buryl) Cox of Tyndal, Martha (Ed) Williams, Violet (Harold) Eberwine both of Coshocton, Bertha Green of Newark; several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance Service of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton with Pastor Steve Young officiating.  Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.  Military honors will be conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Council.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday prior to the Remembrance Service at the Free Funeral Home.

Memoriums may be made in honor of George to the donor’s favorite charity.
