Simmons PicGerald A Simmons, 68, of Coshocton passed away Tuesday January 12, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Mt. Vernon, OH on January 21, 1947 to the late Cecil and Velma (Williams) Simmons.

Gerald worked most of his life in the oil field and as a long haul truck driver. He is a member of the Coshocton VFW, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge 376, Eagles Lodge 761, and Masonic Lodge.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra (Myers) Simmons; children Brian (Kimberly) Simmons, Doug (Trisha) Simmons, and Joey Lynn (Brad) Simmons; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Roger (Kim) Dixon and Gordon (Shirley) Simmons; sisters Jean (Lowe) Baxter and Roxan Morrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday January 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service.

A funeral service will be held for Gerald on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
