Good morning LB supporters: We hope this finds you and your homestead safe from last night’s storms. We’ve got lots of goodies available this week at the market. And, we’re adding a new vendor (see Maple Hollow Farms below).

Hiland Naturals

We’ve restocked our chicken cooler with some cuts and the quick-selling boneless, skin-on chicken breasts. NEW this week is our whole cow ground beef and chicken sausage (maple-flavored breakfast links: no MSG and nitrite/nitrate-free). We have the processor grind the entire cow into hamburger and don’t offer any other cuts. So, our ground beef is extremely lean. Give it a try, you can find it in the small chicken cooler.

Keene Creek Farm

Sweet basil. Purple basil. Romaine. Pizza dough mixes (whole wheat and white). Pork. We were busy prepping for market week the past couple of days. We tried our smoked loin chops last week and were extremely surprised with the flavor and juiciness of them. If you like ham steaks, you’ll love these chops. They taste like ham, but are extremely moist and juicy. For those of you missing our little piggies breakfast links, we hope to have more next Thursday. And, more cheese brats too.

Maple Hollow Farms

Is a greenhouse and produce farm just past the Unusual Junction on 36. It’s owners, Jesse and Ginger Maple, started the family business last fall. They’ll supply us with some annuals, perennials and produce as the season progresses. Welcome to Local Bounty!

Mill Creek Homestead
We love strawberry season!  One of our favorite ways to eat them is in parfaits. Yum! For a great healthy snack or breakfast, pair up our granola with fresh strawberries and yogurt. Our granola is made without wheat products and only with natural sweeteners, honey and maple syrup.

Strawberry Hill Farm
Wow, what wetness! The perfect weather for strawberries has now turned into not-so-perfect weather. We’re still getting good berries, but because of the wet conditions they don’t stay as nice after picking. We’ll bring in what strawberries we can on Thursday, and possibly bring in more on Friday. We’re also bringing salad mix, spinach, arugula, and some romaine lettuce.

Windy Hill Berry Farm & Vineyard
Strawberries are finally ready…and some of them are huge! If we run out on Thursday, come back Saturday. We should be able to pick again by then. We will also have free range eggs, romaine, spinach, and kale. And lastly, we’ve gone back to our original red raspberry jam recipe and are bringing a fresh batch to the store on Thursday. Chicken joke of the week:  What do chicken families do on Saturday afternoon? They go on peck-nics !

Thanks for your support. We look forward to seeing you this market week/weekend.
