The next session of the Zane State College Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) will begin in August at the Zanesville campus. OPOTA is required for those wishing to be a law enforcement officer in the state of Ohio.

Anyone interested in OPOTA should attend one of the mandatory information sessions: May 25 and 27 and June 1 and 3.

The pre-entry physical fitness test will take place on: June 8, 10, 15, and 17. The first 28 to pass the physical fitness test will be eligible for OPOTA admission.

All sessions take place at 5:30 p.m. in health science hall, room 309, on main campus at 1555 Newark Road, Zanesville. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions with them to the session. Please wear a face mask to these socially-distance sessions. Due to current COVID-19 pandemic precautions, the number of guests is limited to nine with no family members. Essential paperwork as well as information on the pre-entry physical fitness test will be reviewed.
