Gibbs, House pass funding bill to freeze Congressional pay

| May 20, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – Following the passage of HR 2250, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill, Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement:

“Today, the House maintained its commitment to cut government spending. As families in Ohio have had to tighten their belts and make difficult decisions with their budgets, Congress should have to make the same decisions. I am proud to vote with my colleagues to maintain a 14 percent cut in House funding and a freeze in pay for members of Congress. HR 2250 ensures that we make the necessary cuts while continuing to effectively serve our constituents.”

HR 2250 also increases funding to Capitol Police by $21 million and cuts nearly $10 million from the Government Publishing Office.
