Gladys Marie Norris

COSHOCTON – Gladys Marie Norris, age 90, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was born on March 15, 1927, in Coshocton, to the late Russell Earl and Margaret Mae (Clemens) McConnell.

Gladys is a graduate of Fresno High School and on June 20, 1947, she married Russell Lyle Norris who preceded her in death in 2005. She was a life member of Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Gladys loved to cook and was known for her cinnamon rolls and fudge. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Florida. They also enjoyed woodworking together with Lyle doing the woodwork and Gladys applying the finish.

She is survived by her two daughters, Becky (Don) Border of Newcomerstown and Sally (Pete) Fluck of Wooster; six grandchildren, Lisa Cabot, Tara Bartholomew, Matt Cabot, Bret Border, Bart Border, and Ryan Longstreth; and nine great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Gladys is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Lyle Norris; great-granddaughter, Lainie Grace Border, and four siblings.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Gladys’s name to the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Stacy Guilliams and the wonderful staff at Windsorwood for all of their care over the years and Community Hospice of Coshocton.
