Gordon “Curly” Elden Mapel

Gordon “Curly” Elden Mapel, 81, of Coshocton, OH passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his home.  He was born October 12, 1934 to the late Russell and Charlotte (Pepper) Mapel of Conesville, OH.  Gordon was retired from Ansell-Edmont, a Navy Reserve Veteran, and a member of AMVETS Post 36.  He graduated from Conesville High School in 1952.

Survived by wife, Linda Shearn Mapel and the four children they shared; Penny  (Jamie) Hahn of Coshocton, Pamela (David) Wright of Flagstaff, AZ, Russell (Sandra) Mapel of Newark, OH, and Kimberly (Brian) Shaw of Westerville, OH.

Also survived by grandchildren Rich Nash, Nick Hahn, Lacey Hahn, Brice Mapel, Kyle Mapel, Holley Mapel, Brandon Shaw, and Joshua Shaw; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Nash and Brendan Nash; special nephew Rodney Whiteus; and former spouse Patricia Bickel Mapel.

Preceded in death by parents, as well as sisters Erma Mapel, Clesson (Charles) Whiteus, and Inez (Paul) Shaw.

At Gordon’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Health Services & Hospice of Coshocton. The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family. An online memorial is located at ww.themillerfuneralhome.com.
