Gregory Alan Lauvray
Gregory Alan Lauvray, 68, of Coshocton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021. He was born in Coshocton to the late Francis and Lillie (Fisher) Lauvray.
He was a 1972 graduate of Coshocton High School and worked for West Rock Paper Mill before retiring after 37 years. He was also a very talented carpenter. Greg spent 25 years as a life guard at Lake Park and a swimming instructor at Ohio State. On March 9, 1974, Greg married the love of his life, Debbi (Strickland) Lauvray who survives.
Greg was born to be wild! He loved riding his motorcycle, telling a good story and joking with everyone. He was the best Husband, Dad and Papa in the world and loved giving hugs and kisses to everyone. Greg had a gentle soul and was always there for anyone who needed anything.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Debbi Lauvray; two children, Missy (Austin) Courtright of West Lafayette and Brock (Emily) Lauvray of Strasburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Jaelyn Alynn McGee, Liv Allan Lauvray, Madalyn Cutshall and Brooklyn Cox; one sister, Maryann (Bob) Parker of Coshocton; four brothers, Paul Lauvray of Coshocton, Tom (June) Lauvray of Coshocton, Joe (Patty) Lauvray of Fairborn, Ohio and Wayne (Kathleen) Lauvray of Coshocton, sister-in-law, Sandy (Stuart) Kuck; two brothers-in-law, Vaiden Strickland and Tom (Denise) Emig; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, from 3-6 p.m. at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home.
Per the Greg’s wishes, to honor him, please do not send any flowers to the funeral home or to the family. Instead, please plant an Oak Tree that will become strong and stout like Greg, in memory of him.
