Guthrie pounds 12 kills for CHS
Tuesday night, Aug. 29, in New Lexington, the Coshocton Redskins and New Lex Panthers did battle in a rematch of last year’s Regional semifinals. In a similar result, the Panthers came out on top in a four-set slugfest. The ‘Skins fell by the scores of 20-25, 25-23, 14-25, and 23-25.
The Redskins were led on offense by Lacey Guthrie who pounded 12 kills and dished out 16 assists. Lilah Laaper led the ‘Skins with 19 assists and three service aces, as well as contributing three kills. Kenidi Jackson reached double-digits in kills with 10 and led the team in digs along with Jaeli Tiedt – each collecting 19. Sophia McFadded added six blocks.
In the two sub-varsity matches, the Redskins also fell to the Panthers. The reserve match saw Coshocton fall to New Lex in straight sets by the scores of 9-25, 23-25. Mallorie Stamper pounded eight kills for the ‘Skin while Kylie Raber added seven assists.
In the first sub-varsity match, the Redskins lost a three-set heartbreaker by the scores of 21-25, 25-23, 22-25.
