Heath man dies in SR 16 accident

On Feb. 29, 2024 at 10:23 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to an injury accident on SR 16 near the North Whitewoman intersection, in the city of Coshocton.

Upon arrival of deputies it was determined Bruce Dye, 43, of Heath, was traveling eastbound when he went left of center into on-coming traffic. Dye’s vehicle struck a vehicle, traveling westbound, being operated by Cal Shrimplin II, 21, of Coshocton.

Shrimplin sustain non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported by EMS. Dye sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Genesis of Coshocton. Dye succumbed to injuries from the accident.

Assisting at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Prince’s Wrecker, Coshocton City Fire Department and REACT.
