Helen Leona Doty Cochran

WEST LAFAYETTE – Helen Leona Doty Cochran, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2018 at Lafayette Pointe Care Center in West Lafayette, OH after an extended illness. She was born on July 10, 1929 to the late Alva and Susan Gilbert in Holmes County, OH. She was the youngest of six siblings who have preceded her in death.

Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, David Milo Doty. She was also preceded in death by four sons, Marvin, Lewis, Daniel and Jerry Doty.

Along with her present husband, Leo G. Cochran of West Lafayette, OH. Helen is survived by her son, Paul (Sharon) Doty of Asheville, NC., grandchildren, David, Katie and Kelly Doty of Asheville, NC., Derik (Carrie) Doty of Sugar Creek, OH. and great-grandchildren, Raya Linn Doty. She is also survived by step-children Laurie (Doug) Evans of West Lafayette, OH., Susan (Dana)Belcher of Croton, OH., Mark (Ann) Cochran of Houston, TX., Lyle Alan and Allison Cochran of Coshocton, OH. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Helen attended West Lafayette United Methodist Church. She was a proud member of The Grange for 53 years. Helen Loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved music and her many cats she had over the years. She was a breast cancer survivor. Helen lived simply and was quick to laugh. She will be missed by those who loved her.

Calling hours will be at the Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Granger officiating.  Burial will follow at the Coshocton County memory Gardens.
