Internationally-known Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne to speak at Lake Park
COSHOCTON – Internationally-known evangelist Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne will be preaching the Word of God in Coshocton on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Lake Park Pavilion. The event is being hosted by Pastor Zachary Weber of The River Church who attended Howard-Browne’s Bible School in 2009 and graduated in 2012.
“After I graduated, I came back to Coshocton and we had a big outreach,” said Weber. “Probably 200 people were there and 80 people were saved. I went back to Tampa, FL. and did a testimonial and that’s when Rodney took notice. He encouraged me to go back and start a church.”
The River Church in Coshocton, 212 S. Seventh St., was founded in 2013 and is one of many River Churches currently established all over the world.
“Our slogan is Coshocton will be saved,” said Weber. “The only way they can be saved is by a personal encounter with God.”
Several years ago, Weber was having dinner with Rodney Howard-Browne and his wife Adonica and Rodney mentioned that he would like to come to Coshocton. A couple of weeks ago, Weber was surprised when he received a call from Rodney saying he would like to come and do a revival in Coshocton.
“He called me a couple of weeks ago and said he felt in his spirit that the Lord wanted him to come to Coshocton, to come and light a fire in people,” said Weber.
Rodney and his wife, along with their three children, came to the United States in 1987 as missionaries from Africa. Since then, he has become an international evangelist known in Christian history books and on television and social media. He has a program on CTN entitled, “The Great Awakening Broadcast”. His home church, The River at Tampa Bay Church, is live on FaithTV every Sunday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. He is also on television in other parts of the world such as the United Kingdom and Africa.
Believing in another great spiritual awakening in America, Dr. Rodney and Adonica conducted Celebrate America DC, a soul-winning event. They preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for 29 nights in Washington DC at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall, just 500 yards from the White House, from 2014 – 2017. Through the evangelism efforts on the streets, in the halls of Congress, and the nightly altar calls, 52,434 individuals made a decision for Jesus Christ.
On July 10, 2017, the last day of the meetings at the DAR, they were given the opportunity to spend the day at the White House. With a group of 25 others, they were invited into the Oval Office to visit President Trump. While standing there, Dr. Rodney was asked to pray for the president. He prayed for his protection, for godly wisdom, and that the evil would be cut off and rooted out. Once Dr. Rodney left the Oval Office, he successfully launched a 24/7 prayer initiative for President Trump.
With a passion for souls and a passion to revive and mobilize the Body of Christ, Drs. Rodney and Adonica have conducted soul-winning efforts through 57 nations with Good News campaigns, R.M.I. Revivals, and the Great Awakening Tours. As a result, more than 17,755,700 people have come to Christ and tens of thousands of believers have been revived and mobilized to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“I’m hoping pastors come out to the meeting and get a fresh fire,” said Linda Weber, Zachary’s mother. “The pastor of a church needs to have that fire to be able to filter it down in their congregation.”
“I’m hoping that people encounter God in a way they never have before,” said Zachary. “I hope people will come and get a touch from the Lord.”
