James Drexel Wright

James Drexel Wright, 95, of Coshocton, passed away at Genesis Morrison House Hospice on Friday, May 27, 2022.

James was born in Alva, KY to the late Jeptha W. and Jenny Ella (Cox) Wright. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class during WWII from 1944-1946. James was an underground miner for Blackstar & Simco Peabody Coal in Insull, Kentucky. James was a 40-year member of the Coshocton Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Shriners and Victory Baptist Church in Coshocton.

James is survived by two devoted daughters, Treitha (Jim) Kreis and JoAnn (Jerry R.) Olinger both of Coshocton; grandchildren, Lori (Shay) Burris and Andrea (Chris) Guilliams; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ashleigh and Hunter Burris and Griffin and Ava Guilliams; two brothers, Randall Wright of Middleboro, KY and Damon Wright of Zanesville; several loving nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby Ellen (Saylor) Wright whom he married April 22, 1946, Ruby passed away on March 12, 2013; brothers, Bill, Harold and Edward Wright; sisters, Phyllis Carmony, Betty and Geneva Wright, Helen Long and Mildred Daniels.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon where funeral services will begin at noon with Pastor Ralph Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Victory Baptist Church, 355 Browns Lane, Coshocton, Ohio 43812, and/or Coshocton Veterans Honor Guard, 318 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
