James ‘Jim’ R. Bender

James Bender PicJames “Jim” R. Bender, 75, of Coshocton passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Signature Healthcare of Coshocton.  He was born in Holmesville, Ohio on August 24, 1941 to the late James E. and Anna S. (Jones) Bender.

Jim worked at Rice and Chadwick Rubber Company for over 40 years before retiring.  He was a 25 year member of the Keene Grange Hall, Keene United Methodist Church, Killbuck VFW, and was a 4-H Advisor for over 20 years. He loved swimming coon dogs, night hunting, and listening to blue grass music.

Jim is survived by his sons Ed (Susan Lint) Bender, Jesse (Claire) Bender, George (Lori) Bender, and Jacob (Lynn) Bender all of Coshocton; two grandchildren; six step grandchildren; brother Forrest “Gene” (Nancy) Bender; Uncle James Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Fath) Bender, whom passed away February 17, 2017.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday February 27, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.  Funeral services for Jim will be at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the American Heart Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com

I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University.
