James McVey
ZANESVILLE – James F. McVey, 71, passed away on Monday, July 29th, 2019 at the Morrison Hospice House in Zanesville, OH. He was born to the late Fred and Ruby McVey on August 15th, 1947 in Marietta, OH.
James served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and went on to earn an Associates Degree at Muskingum College. He worked as a Men’s Group Facilitator at First Step Family Violence for 25 years before retiring.
James is survived by his loving wife Jeanne whom he had been married to for 30 years; his step-children Linda Randles (fiancé Curt Arden), Jacqueline Gross, and Dennis Hosfelt; brother Bill McVey; grandchildren Gina Cass (fiancé Jeff Gibson), Adrian Randles, Dustin Hartstock, Crystal Sexton, Tyler Thomas, Andria (Brandon) Carpender and Tosha Hosfelt; nephew Steve McVey and twelve great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by his siblings Patricia and Patrick McVey.
A Graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 1pm with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Memorial contributions can be directed towards First Step Battered Woman Shelter.
