James Ott Fisher

James Ott Fisher, age 90, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born in Coshocton, on September 27, 1933, to the late John and Allie (Ott) Fisher.

After graduating from Keene High School in 1951, Jim joined the United States Army serving his country proudly for 22 years before retiring in 1993. On April 4, 1953, he married Wanda (Miller) Fisher.  Jim worked for General Electric for 31 years.

He loved going to the Coshocton County Fair, sitting in the Agriculture Hall with his nephew, Butch. He and his wife were a staple at the Riverview Boys Basketball games, faithfully attending games since 1974. Jim enjoyed playing cards, fishing, watching baseball games and Ohio State basketball games. He was also especially proud to have gone on an Honor Flight with his son, James several years ago.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Wanda Fisher, his daughter, Joan (David) Durben of Coshocton, daughter-in-law, Luann Fisher of Chillicothe; three grandsons, Cory, Andrew and Nathan, one great-grandson, Elliot; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his son, James who passed away in April of 2023 and brothers, Leo, Dale, Robert and William Fisher.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. A Memorial service will follow at the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with the Coshocton County Veterans Council Honor Guard conducting military honors.
