James R. ‘Jim’ Ames

COSHOCTON – James R. “Jim” Ames, 86, of Coshocton passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville on Thursday October 4, 2018.

Jim was born in Fresno, Ohio on June 19, 1932. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Superior Dairy.

He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church and Coshocton Eagles Lodge where he enjoyed playing cards with his friends.

Jim is survived by his son Joe (Shelly) Ames of Coshocton; two granddaughters Amanda (Ryan) Matchack of Columbus and Sara (Zach) Moody of Coshocton; two grandsons Chad Ames of Coshocton and Luke (Cheyenne) Ames of Zanesville; four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Clarice Ames; two sons Mike and Troy Ames; step parents Joe and Lucy (Latham) Duling.

Graveside funeral services will be held in Prairie Chapel Cemetery on Monday October 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating.  Coshocton County Veterans Council will also be performing military honors.

The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family.
