James Richard “Dick” Dile

James Richard “Dick” Dile went to be with his heavenly savior on January 3, 2020 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg, Ohio. Dick was born on April 22, 1935. He was the son of the late James C. Dile and Garnet J. (West) Dile. On May 4, 1980, he married Christine “Chris” L. (Laird) Dile, who survives. Dick graduated from Roscoe High School in 1955. He attended the Roscoe Alumni every year, never missing a year. Dick retired from Pretty Products with 35 plus years, from Richard Downy Airport with ten years and he worked for Peddicord Rice Auction and Reality for many years. Dick was a lifetime member of the Coshocton Elks, past chief of North Tuscarawas Fire Department in Canal Lewisville, Ohio and a baseball coach for many years for his son, Chad. He was a proud supporter of all activities that his children and grandchildren were in. He was a member of Central Christian Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus. Dick loved helping people all of his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David (Cathy) Dile and Chad (Crystal) Spinks and two daughters, Denise (Ken) Fairall and Dee (Curt) Carpenter. Grandchildren, Erica (Kris Fender) Cox, Richie (Kelly) Cox, Leah Carpenter, Tristen and Hayden Spinks, Gauge McFarland and Reece Slaughter. Great-grandchildren, Talon and Keslan Fender, Bella Cox and Breighlynn Dile. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Paul) Duvall, sister-in-law, Cindy (Ray) Abbott, brother-in-law, Tim (Cindy) Laird, a father-in-law, John (Joan Fitch) Laird and special cousins, Tom and Deb West, Jeanine Carnes and Joyce Ulmer.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Garnet Dile, grandson, Nathan Dile and mother-in-law, Patricia Laird and Lois Settle Laird.

Per Dick’s wishes, he wants to be cremated and no services, whatsoever.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Central Christian Church in Coshocton, Ohio. The family would like to thank Sycamore Run, Interim Hospice in Coshocton and Lifecare Hospice in Wooster for the wonderful care given to him.
