Janet Louise (Weaver) Miskimens

Janet Louise (Weaver) Miskimens, age 90 of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1932 in Coshocton to the late John and Mary (Patterson) Weaver.

She was a 1950 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School. On April 14, 1951, she married Jack Miskimens and spent 59 wonderful years with him until his passing on May 27, 2010.

Janet worked for O’Neil’s Department Store, the Board of Elections and for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office before retiring. She was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was involved with the Catholic Women’s Club; she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the AMVETS Auxiliary, and the Coshocton Women’s Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, dancing, walking and going to the Theater.

Janet is survived by her loving children, Jackie (Rick) Ross of Columbus, Joan (Bob) Brenly of Arizona, Jeff (Eloise) Miskimens of Cincinnati, Jennifer (Roger) Miller of Atlanta, GA and Janilyn (Jim) Bartlett of Lexington, KY; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and her husband, Janet is preceded in death by her brother, John A. Weaver.

Calling hours were held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday at 2:30 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Homer Blubaugh officiating. Burial followed at South Lawn Cemetery.
