Jean Dorothy McKenna
Jean Dorothy McKenna, age 86, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 16, 1937, to the late Joseph and Caroline (Pitts) Kashi.
She was a 1955 graduate of Westlake High School. On September 6, 1958, she married Jerry McKenna and together they spent 65 wonderful years of marriage.
Jean and Jerry are the owners and operators of Unusual Junction in West Lafayette, Ohio, and McKenna’s Markets. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a 40 year member of the Cookie Cutter Collectors Club. Jean loved a good thrift store and enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions, and antique shopping. She was a wonderful cook and was most famous for her soups and kolache cookies.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry McKenna; children, Teri (Michael) Misener of Coshocton and Bob McKenna of Coshocton; four grandchildren, Brendan Misener, Conor Misener, Maxx McKenna and Keeley Misener; and daughter-in-law, Jan Myers.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
