Jean E. Thompson

Jean Edna (Bush) Thompson, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 at Altercare of Coshocton.

She was born June 5, 1929 in Lucas Co. to the late Byford and Edna F. (Beers) Bush. She graduated from Monclova High School in 1947, Spring Arbor College in 1949, and Bowling Green State University in 1952 with a degree in home economics/education. She taught high school home economics at Roscoe and Coshocton High Schools in the early 1950s, then became the office manager for the Thompson Agency.

Jean served as Coshocton City Treasurer from Jan. 1, 1990 to Dec. 31, 2001. She was a graduate of Coshocton Co. Leadership Class of 1999, and a member of the Coshocton Co. Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her son, H. Dewey (Lisa) Thompson; two grandchildren, Justin (Grace) Thompson and Jordan (Stephanie Creighton) Thompson; a sister, Nancy Stringer of Anderson, IN; a sister-in-law, Sandra Bush of Dunedin, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Davenport, and  brothers, Byford Bush, Jerry Bush, and James Bush.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. D. Cordell Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Roscoe Cemetery.
