Jean H. Kittle

Jean H. Kittle, 93, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away December 22, 2024, at her home after enduring heart disease for many years.  She is survived by her three beloved daughters, Susan L. (Dan) Norris of Milton, WV, Karen J. Bertschy of Coshocton, OH, and Kathee R. (Dave) Pierce of Orlando, FL.  She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bill Kittle and her son, Stephen L. Kittle.

She was born on July 30, 1931, in Ripley, WV to the late J. Howard and Arizona (Shinn) Smith.  She graduated from Ripley High School in 1949 and attended Marshall University. Jean married the love of her life, Bill Kittle, in 1950 and together they raised four children.

When her youngest daughter went to school, Jean began a long career as a bank teller at Ripley National Bank.  They relocated to Coshocton, Ohio in 1971 and she continued her career working at Coshocton National Bank until her retirement.  They loved living on their small farm in Coshocton, raising cattle, gardening, and woodworking together.  Jean enjoyed watching the wildlife on her farm, reading, and watching sports, especially the Buckeyes.  She was a member of the Otsego United Methodist Church where she was long-time Treasurer and the Coshocton County Genealogy Society.

In addition to those listed above, Jean is survived by her grandchildren; Kelli E. (Steve) McCormick, Kyle J. (Kristin) Norris, John D. (Amber) Bertschy, Brian M. (Stephanie) Bertschy, Louis D. (Brittany) Bertschy, and Noah (Jordan) Pierce.  She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Evan and Nora McCormick; Hayla and Eli Norris; Brenden, Danika, Alexandra Bertschy, and their sisters Katelyn and Kenzie Kimbrough and son, Easton; Ryleigh and Addy Bertschy; and Cooper, Lincoln, Lydia, and Liam Bertschy.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brother-in-law. Her family also includes numerous nieces and nephews as well as her husband’s parents, his nine siblings and their spouses.

Jean’s family would like to thank her team of devoted caregivers, Ellen, Brenda, Angie, Pam, and Debbie as well as the Interim Healthcare Hospice staff.

Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Township Cemetery.
