Jeffery “Jeff” Shane Rust

Jeffery “Jeff” Shane Rust, 46, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Born on June 1, 1978, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jeff grew up in Coshocton, Ohio, and graduated from Coshocton High School.

Jeff’s dedication to hard work was evident in his years at Clow, Wayne Dalton, and his current role with Cleveland Cliffs, where he was known for his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic. Beyond his laborer profession, Jeff was a spirited member of the Coshocton Moose Lodge and the Coshocton Eagles Lodge, where he shared laughs, stories, and good times with friends.

He was a passionate fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Guardians, and he cherished spending his weekends cheering on his favorite teams. Jeff loved playing cornhole, poker, hitting the bowling lanes, and indulging in dirt track and rough truck racing thrills. His zest for adventure was evident in his favorite pastime of riding his SXS and traveling with his family, creating beautiful memories along the way.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Wendy (Catrow) Rust, whom he married on December 13, 2014. He was a proud father to Kobe and Emily Rust, and bonus children Wilson (Maggie) Moats and Mattie Gibson. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Scarlett Glatz, Maverick Moats, Mason Gibson, Jasovelle Gibson, Rollin Gibson, and Milo Gibson; mother Debra (Rust) Lee; and father Keith (Tammy) Krebs; father and mother-in-law Greg and Sue Catrow; mother-in-law Connie Smith; siblings: Mandy (Robbie) Walker, Dana (Steve) Roberts, Keith Krebs II, Kimmie (Lisa) Krebs, Rickey (Rachel) Madison, and Erick (Valerie) Madison; and brother-in-law Jamie (Michelle) Finnell.

The family encourages everyone attending Jeff’s calling hours to please wear their favorite OSU, Steelers, Guardians, or team of their choice, apparel in honor of Jeff.

Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, OH on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.  Private burial will take place at a later date at Bakersville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be directed toward the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
