Jeffrey D. Wilden
Jeffrey D. Wilden, affectionately known as “Jeff,” was born on June 4, 1951, in Coshocton. He passed away at the age of 73 on March 21, 2025, at Genesis Medical Center in Zanesville, Ohio.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a strong bond with family, friends and co-workers.
Jeff’s career began at Pretty Products, where he worked for nine years before moving on to Cleveland Cliffs, where he dedicated 26 years of his professional life. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Medic from 1971 to 1973, an experience that honed his caring nature.
A member of American Legion Post 431 in Newcomerstown and the Central Christian Church in Coshocton.
He graduated from Coshocton High School and furthered his education by receiving an Associate degree from Columbus Business College, equipping him with knowledge that would serve him throughout his life.
Jeff was known for his fun-loving, friendly personality and his good sense of humor, which endeared him to friends and family alike. He enjoyed all kinds of hunting, with a particular fondness for fishing. A true nurturer at heart, he loved spending time in his garden planting vegetables and flowers, showcasing his love for nature and the joy it brought him.
He loved farming with his father in the 1980s at Wilden’s Dream Farm, where they raised livestock. This venture not only exemplified his dedication to family and tradition but also instilled in him lifelong values of hard work and perseverance.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl A. (Phillabaum) Wilden whom he married September 18, 1999; daughter Heather (Brent) Huff of Newcomerstown; grandchildren Lane and Grace Huff; sister Pam (Steve) Conkle of Fresno; mother-in-law Virginia Phillabaum; one niece, one nephew and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert F. Wilden; mother, JoAnn (Simkins) Wilden; and father-in-law Don Phillabaum.
Jeff’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him, touching lives with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of kindness.
Per Jeff’s wishes, a cremation will take place, and no services will be observed.
