CollinsNELLIE – Jerry Allen Collins, of Nellie, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 in Conroe, Texas while visiting family.

Jerry was born July 13, 1945 to the late Major Richard and Irene Mae (Helmick) Collins.

He served one tour in Vietnam. After he was honorably discharged, he returned home where he met and married the love of his life, JoEllen Collins, who preceded him in death on June 4, 2013.

Jerry was a master craftsman all his life. He worked on the Port of Houston, at Clow Water Systems, owned his own home remodeling business, and for many years was a millwright, where he traveled all over the United States working side-by-side with his oldest son, Scott. He was a Certified Master Electrician and he was often known by his family as the go-to guy when something needed repaired.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his surviving family: step-mother, Margaret “Peggy” Collins of Coshocton, two brothers; Freeman (Patricia) Collins of Conroe, TX, and Frank “Cole” (Brenda) Collins of Coshocton, three children; Lisa (Michael) Gabehart of Conroe, TX, Scott (Jennifer) Collins of Warsaw, Troy (Christia) Collins of Conroe, TX, nine grandchildren; Christlee and Kerri Gabehart, John, Bruce, Jacy, Leya, Nekayle, Brie and Will Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held, Monday, Dec.  29, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Immediately following, a graveside service with military rights by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard, will be conducted before he is laid to rest beside his wife at Bethel Cemetery in Warsaw.
