FRESNO – Jerry Arlan Simmons, 68 of Fresno died Tuesday January 23, 2018, at Genesis Hospital, He was born in Chili on May 19, 1949, to the late Harold Delmar and Opal (West) Simmons. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and later worked as a truck driver. On September 23, 1978, he married Audrey (Potter) Simmons, who survives. Jerry was a Chevy car and truck fanatic and spent time in his yard as he loved yard work and gardening.

Along with his wife he is survived by his step children, Randy (Stacey) Roberts of Zanesville and Ron (Laura) Roberts of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Jefferson, Victoria (Nathan), Christopher, Veronica, Cale and Andrew (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Nathan and Brooke; Brothers, Robert Simmons of Zanesville, Thomas Simmons of Coshocton and sister, Joann (Mike) Mutchelknaus of Dover.

Jerry is preceded in death by his son, brother, H.D. Simmons and sister, Mary Zimmerman.

Calling hours will take place at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2017, from 5pm to 7pm and one hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 27, 2017, at the Fresno United Methodist Church at 11am with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Council performing veteran honors.
