Jerry Dale Hampton

Jerry Dale Hampton, 75 of Fresno passed away Friday June 14th, 2019 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.  Jerry was born on October 1, 1943 in West Lafayette to the late William Ray and Laura Faye (Carr) Hampton. Jerry graduated from West Lafayette High School and served in the US Army during Vietnam.  In his earlier years, he had worked at Pretty Products in Coshocton and retired from AK Steel after 38 years.  Jerry was a member of the Coshocton Eagles, Moose, American Legion, AMVETS and V.F.W..  He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and westerns.  Jerry and his wife Cheryl also enjoyed traveling around to flea markets and yard sales.    He is survived by his wife Cheryl A. Hampton whom he married August 20, 1971; two sons Jeff Hampton of Fresno and Steve Hampton of West Lafayette; grandson Bradley Christopher Dale Hampton; nephews Tory (Tonya) Hampton, Chris (Michele) Hampton and Kevin (Megan) Hampton; niece Mary (Bill) Ghiloni; sister in law Diana Hampton.

Along with his parents Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Don Hampton; nephew Todd Hampton. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Friday June 21, 2019 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM with Mark Granger officiating.   Interment will follow in Canal Lewisville Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Council performing military honors.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
