Joan Eliza McVay
Joan Eliza McVay, 74, of Coshocton, joined her beloved husband and son on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Autumn Health Care of Coshocton.
Born February 7, 1939 in Coshocton, Joan was the daughter of the late Fred McCoy Warren and Eliza Bell (Postelwaite) Warren of Coshocton.
For over 15 years, Joan had been employed at Almack’s Greenhouse in West Lafayette.
On December 23, 1955, Joan married Denvil “Denny” McVay, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2005.
Joan’s loving personality that she shared with each of her family members will never be forgotten. In addition to her mother Eliza Warren, family members include two daughters Althea Andrews and companion Teresa Speaks of Coshocton, Jonnie (Rick) Nelson of West Lafayette; three sons Anthony (Levahn) McVay of Canton, Christopher (Tammy) McVay, Denvil (Michelle) McVay, Jr. all of Coshocton; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; brother George Nelson (Shirley) Warren of Warsaw; sister Nancy Pearl (Dave) Decker, Tilden, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, Joan was preceded in death by an infant son Gregory Fred McVay.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 15, 2013 at South Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Paul Schwab officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 14, 2013 for family and friends at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton.
