John C. Conkle

John C. Conkle, 100, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023. He was born in Millcreek Township on March 22, 1923 to the late Cleophas and Lena (Scheenbarger) Conkle.

John graduated from Clark High School in 1940. He was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Shepler Church, was a lay leader and teacher for many years. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau of Coshocton County and the Coshocton County Gideons.

On April 29, 1945 he married Maxine (Lowe) Conkle.

John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Carol and Brian Baird; grandchildren Charity Richert, Robert (Suri Linares) Baird, and Brian (Emily Eppley) Baird II; three great grandchildren Hailey L. Richert, Aaron J. Richert, and John J. Baird.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine V. Conkle, who passed away in 2018 and his son, Randy K. Conkle, who passed away in 2021; his brother Maynard Conkle and sister Evelyn Gehrig.

Funeral services for John will be private for the family. The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Coshocton Gideons. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
