john smith photoJohn E. Smith, 86, of Coshocton died at his home on Tuesday May 19, 2015.

He was born in Louisville, OH on October 3, 1928 to the late Lorenzo M. and Annie (Robertson) Smith.

John was a 1946 graduate from Marlboro High School and worked in automotive sales before retiring in 1991. He is a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and is a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite. He was known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed hunting, camping, world travel and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Donna, have traveled to all 50 states and 35 foreign countries. John was very proud of the fact that all of his children and grandchildren have college degrees.

He is survived by his wife Donna (Plotner) Smith, whom he married September 18, 1948; sons Charles (Trish) Smith of Coshocton, OH, Jeffrey (Carol) Smith of CO, and David (Bunni) Smith of Somerset, OH; grandchildren Tara, Nathan, Braden,  Heather, Larissa, and Alex; great-grandchildren Lily and Rebecca; and brother George H. (Janella) Smith of AZ.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday May 22, 2015 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Craig Redecker officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
