John Tatten PictureJohn H. Tatten, 88, of Coshocton passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, September 12, 2013 after a long illness.

John was born in Coshocton to the late Ted and Gladys M. (Croy) Tatten on March 4, 1925.

He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1943, served in the US Navy during WWII, was a tool and die maker for Jones Zylon in West Lafayette for thirty six years, a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and a member of Park United Methodist Church.

American FlagJohn is survived by his devoted wife Ellen A. (Whyde) Tatten; caring children Tom (Glady) Tatten of Las Vegas, NV and Sue (Larry) Broadwater of Coshocton; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and a brother Richard (Audrey) Tatten of Coshocton.

Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his sister Betty Brabson.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday September 15, 2013 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeremy Roseberry and Rev. Philip Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Frazeysburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Park United Methodist Church and/or Coshocton County EMS, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
