John R. Unger
John R. Unger, 75, of Coshocton, passed away at Coshocton Genesis Medical Center on Monday January 13, 2025.
John was born in Coshocton on April 27, 1949, to the late Robert and Lawanda E. (Williamson) Unger.
He graduated from Coshocton High School in the class of 1967, served in the Army National Guard and retired from AEP Conesville Plant and RSO Union. John loved riding motorcycles, building and working on his race cars and traveling with his family.
John is survived by his wife Sandra “Sandy” Unger whom he married September 13, 1969, they were married fifty-five years; sons Chris (Angie) Unger of Adamsville, Michael “Mike” (Tiffany) Unger of West Lafayette and Matt (Andrea) Unger of Dresden; grandchildren Emma & Will Pickins, Gannon Unger, Sydney Dawson, Jonah & Elijah Haines, Wyatt Unger, Zach Reid, and Brady Howell; great grandchildren Rome & Liliah Dawson; siblings Jerry (Chris) Unger, Jeff (Sandy) Unger all of Coshocton and Dave (Kim) Unger of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service for John will be held in South Lawn Cemetery in the spring.
The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
