John S. George

John S. George, 81, of Coshocton passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus on Friday, March 11, 2022.

He was born in Floyd County, KY on October 23, 1940, to the late Johnny M. and Grace (Helton) George.  John served in the U.S. Army, worked in the coal mines for the Peabody Coal Company and retired as a bus driver for the Muskingum Coach Company in Coshocton. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting.

John is survived by his children, Kelly (Rodney) Huhn of Zanesville and John (April) George II of Coshocton; grandchildren Tim (Shannon) Riggle of Mansfield, OH, Kerry (Heather Jenkins) Riggle of Zanesville, Mark Caynor of Zanesville, Benjamin George of New Jersey, Kayla (Diego Sari) George of New Jersey, Jacob George of US Army Garrison, Hawaii, and Adam George of Coshocton; brother Danny George of Coshocton; sister Ann Caudill of KY; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Helen Louise George who passed away in 2019 and his son, Billy George; two brothers Jimmy Joe George and Bill George.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Thursday March 17, 2022, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors at 6:00 PM.  A cremation will take place following the services.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Coshocton Senior Center, 201 Browns Lane, Coshocton, Ohio 43812; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
