June E. Cullison

COSHOCTON – June Elizabeth (Funk) Cullison passed away peacefully at Windsorwood Place where she resided the past two years. She was 96 years young.

Born near West Carlisle in Perry Township on June 4, 1921 she was the fourth child of Earl B. and Nell (Huff) Funk. Both parents preceded her in death as did two brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Coshocton High School in 1939 and attended Coshocton Business College while working at the Coshocton Home Savings Bank. On June 4, 1942 she married Norman Taylor Cullison of Warsaw and together they operated a Holstein dairy farm on State Route 60 south of Warsaw. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1983.

Mrs. Cullison was a homemaker and mother and worked in the Engineering Office at the former Edmont Company in Coshocton for 20+ years. She also worked at Warsaw Post Office for 10 years and was active as a lifelong member of Warsaw Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher and was honored as a Centurion member. She was actively involved with Warsaw Garden Club, Homemaker’s Club, Warsaw Lioness Club, was a Past Matron of Warsaw Chapter OES #409 and active in the Social Order of Beauceant and the White Shrine. She also worked with the Warsaw Emergency Squad from 1974 to 1982.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts and traveling especially with the Ohio Heritage Bank group.

On February 14, 1991 she married George Jones who preceded her in death on October 21, 1997.

She is survived by two sons, Larry S. (Carol) and J. Richard (Sherry) and a daughter-in-law Linda, all of Warsaw; and a daughter, Mary R. (Ken) Morrow of New Lebanon, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Thomas L. (Linda), a son-in-law, Robert E. (Mary) Puderbaugh and a daughter-in-law, Tommy Marie (Larry) Cullison. She is also survived by ten grandsons and one granddaughter along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Tim Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery at Warsaw.  Visitation is Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
