Katherine A. “Kate” Kennedy

Kate Kennedy Picture (2)Katherine A. “Kate” Kennedy, 75 of Coshocton passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday January 5, 2013. 

Kate was born in Lancaster, Ohio on September 10, 1937 to the late Ray Landon and Martha (Hummel) Dittoe. 

She worked at Social Supper in Dresden, Ohio for 38 years, attended Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a member of Moose Lodge 935 Family Center in Coshocton. 

On June 16, 1954 she married Donald Kennedy who survives, also surviving are two daughters Terrie (Bruce) Brown of Coshocton and Paula (Tommy) Powers of Newport, NC; three grandchildren whom she adored Tina (Josh) Aronhalt, Travis Brown and D.J. Kennedy; three great grandchildren Clay, Jacie and Jett whom she loved to be with and help care for; half-sister Irene Wilson of TX; half brother Richard Landon of TX; several nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her step dad Joe Dittoe who raised her; brother Bud Landon; sister Garnet Smith and granddaughter Michelle Dawn Brown. 

A special thanks to Dr. Gwinn, Dr. Carver, Hospice and CCMH for all their wonderful care. The hospital cafeteria was her favorite place to eat with all of her dietary friends. 

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday January 8, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Funeral services for Kate will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dale Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice”, CCMH Palliative Care and/or Prairie Chapel UMC, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
