Keene planning July 4th celebration

| June 24, 2020
The Village of Keene and the newly formed Independence Day Committee are planning a July 4 celebration with a parade at noon on Saturday, July 4.
The committee is being led by Galen Honabarger, a 30-year resident of Keene.
Anyone from the Keene community who would like to help in planning this event is welcome to call Honabarger at 740-575-4318. “The big reason we are doing this is to celebrate our liberty and our freedom,” he said.
Parade participants will meet at the monument in front of Keene United Methodist Church for a small ceremony. There will be a flyover by area pilot John Graham and then the parade participants will travel down through the village and back.
“Anyone who wants to come is invited,” Honabarger said. “Bring your horses, walk or ride. We hope to get young people involved with their bicycles.”
The Independence Day Committee will require all those participating and attending to maintain social distancing during the event.
