Lady Bears pick up victories
WARSAW – The River View Lady Bears Varsity Softball team beat TCC in a low-scoring affair. Both teams were strong on the mound, but the River View Lady Bears Varsity defeated TCC 3-2.
Alyssa Thomas allowed just five hits to TCC. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three.
Claire Warschauer, Mikensi Ehlinger, Gracie Dunlap, Bailey Hettinger, Lauren Krystek, and Kelsie Williamson all had one hit to lead the Lady Bears.
Peyton Werntz also picked up a victory against TCC. She didn’t allow a single run and threw a complete game shutout, leading the Lady Bears to a 5-0 victory. She allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
The Lady Bears had six hits in the game. Werntz and Dunlap each collected two hits. River View also was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
Another recent victory for the Lady Bears came over Dover, who they defeated 6-3 after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with River View batting in the bottom of the fifth when Warschauer hit a solo homer.
Alyssa Thomas earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for River View. She allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four.
River View scattered 11 hits in the game. Thomas, Werntz, and Warschauer all managed multiple hits and the Lady Bears didn’t commit a single error.
