Larry R. Adkins

Larry Ray Adkins, 76, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge.

He was born Oct. 2, 1946 in Canton to the late Charles and Shirley (Snell) Adkins. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He married Virginia Carol (Adams) Adkins on Dec. 22, 1978, who preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2021. Together they attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where they were members.

Larry was very talented, a “Jack of all trades”. He enjoyed motorcycles and knife making among his many hobbies. He was very proud of his Native American ancestry and enjoyed attending various cultural festivals.

He is survived by his children, William Scott Adkins of West Lafayette, Allison Marie Adkins of Coshocton, Emily Carol Adkins West Lafayette, and Heather Diane Adkins of Coshocton; siblings, Bill Adkins (Deb Covlin) of West Lafayette, Pat (Steve) Lewis of West Lafayette, Dixie (Allen) McCormick of West Lafayette, Tom Carter of Kimbolton, and Bernie (Bill) Robinson of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lawrence Adkins.
