Larry Shepherd

Larry Shepherd, 87, of Coshocton passed away from Lewy Body Dementia on June 23, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 24, 1937 in Bethesda, Ohio to the late Vernon and Helen (Grimes) Shepherd. He is a United States Navy Veteran, having served from 1956-1958. After his time in the service, he worked as a truck driver. He loved the open road and the freedom truck driving presented him. On April 26, 1986, he married Macil (Simons) Shepherd, who survives. He never met a stranger along his way, stopping to talk to anyone who would listen. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop, getting his pie and playing the lottery. Larry was giving and selfless, he would do anything for anyone.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Diane (Kelly) Lewis, Laurie Kruze, Becky Vorhee, Bobby (Ida) Lewis, Marnie (Shawn) McIntire, Kirstin (Mike) Wiley and Bob (Cindy) Fetters; grandchildren, Abbagail Shepherd, Eddie and Katie Pack, Jeff Sells and multiple grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Riot Shepherd and Ariauna Pack and her 3 siblings as well as other great-grandchildren; brother, John Shepherd; best friend, Bill Wagner and his beloved dog, Ava.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Shepherd and siblings, Charlotte Lucas and Ronnie Shepherd.

Per his wishes, a cremation will take place with the Miller-Kaser Cremation Services. Donations can be made to Genesis Hospice at 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
