Ledonis “Double D” Howard Daliere

Ledonis “Double D” Howard Daliere, 86, of Coshocton, a retired craftsman, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2020. He was born in New Castel Township, Coshocton, County on April 1, 1934 to the late Ralph and Edith (Kanuckel) Daliere.

He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1952. Don was married to Shirley (Taylor) Daliere for 41 years, until she lost her life to cancer in 1994.

Don was sent to Germany with the Armed Forces and served two years. He left the Army as a Sergeant. Early in 1968, Don was hired by the Montgomery’s to restore the Canal Town, which became Roscoe Village. He started on the Sweet Shop and other buildings. In the 70s, Nancy Longsinger, historian for Roscoe Village, gave Don a nickname of the “Building Artist.” He retired after 45 years and 100 plus new buildings and remodeling jobs, due to health. He had good help from his crew, Carl Davis and Carliss “Corkie” Kaser.

He was a 55 year member of the Masonic Lodge 96, 46 year member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge 376, a lifetime member of the Amvets Post 36, and various other local lodges. Don was a marksman, rifleman and sharpshooter. He loved his guns and participated in several national shooting competitions throughout his life, in which he either won or placed. Don was an avid hunter and went on numerous hunting expeditions.

Don will be sadly missed by his family. He married Darlene (Guthrie) Stipes on Dec. 12, 2005, who survives. Don was surrounded by step-sons, Chris (AJ) Stipes, Mark (Jodi) Stipes and David (Jodi) Stipes; daughter-in-law, Michelle Stipes; step-grandchildren, Jessica Orecchio, Starrzanne (Don) Hilty, Ian (Stephanie) Stipes, Crosby (Ashley) Stipes, Collin (Kara) Stipes, Laney (BJ) Wheeler, Logan (Ali Hazen) Stipes, Peyton (Curtis Blake) Stipes, Kristen (Brandon) Wesney, Cory (Ashley) Barnett and Hunter Stipes; step-great-grandchildren, Bo and Jayden Orecchio, Jersey and Hollis Stipes, Locklin and Kate Wheeler, Pyper and Waylon Stipes, Hayze and Bexlee Hilty, Kingston, Titan and Creed Stipes, Madison Cramblett, Brady Barnett and Paisley and Brantly Barnett.

Along with his parents and first wife, Don is preceded in death by his sister Juanita and step-son, Keith Stipes in 2009.

A graveside service will be held on Dec. 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don’s name to the Coshocton County Honor Guard, Veterans Service Office, 318 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
