Lenton Lunches begin on Feb. 26 at the Presbyterian Church

| February 19, 2020
This year marks the 51st anniversary of the first Lenton Lunches held in Coshocton. Last year was the first year the lunches had a theme and “Matters of the Heart” is the theme this year.
“These lunches are a hit in the community. Around 100 people come each week to hear the message and have lunch,” said Chuck Snyder. Pastors from six different local churches speak each week and bring someone from their church to provide special music for the program.
The lunches will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 26 and continue each Wednesday until April 1. Lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. and Snyder said they try to finish up about 12:50 p.m. “People often come on their lunch breaks,” he said.
Snyder also said that 22 churches are helping to provide the lunch, which is soup and pies. Vegetables and cheese are also available.
The suggested offering for the meal is at least $5, but you can donate more if you wish. After expenses, the rest of the money goes to provide clothing for local children. “Last year, 50 children were helped,” Snyder said. “We had about $2,000 to use for clothing.”
The lunches are held at the Presbyterian Church on the corner of Fourth and Chestnut streets in Coshocton.
