Lewis Thomas

Lewis Thomas, age 87, of Coshocton, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on June 22, 1933 in Coshocton to the late Cecil and Eloise (Fry) Thomas. He was a United States Army Signal Corp Veteran having served from 1953 to 1954. He retired in 1991 as a machinist at Rockwell International after working there for 30 years. On May 29, 1962, he married Mary Jane (Cognion) Thomas, who survives.

He is survived by his children, Eric (Wendy) Thomas, Trent Thomas and Trista (Rick) Ratzel; grandchildren, Amy (Bill) Vorys, Tania (Derek) Schonauer, Loren Lindig III, Dawn (Colt) Landis, Ann (Tyler) Wyant; great-grandchildren Kinslee and Callan Schonauer and Oaklee and Hudson Landis; siblings, Shirley Dickerson and Steve (Bev) Thomas.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bart Thomas; granddaughter, Kayla Thomas; brother-in-law, Stan Dickerson and sister, Leah (Jim) Bickel.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm at The Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11am at The Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Coshocton County Memory Gardens with military honors being performed by Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard.

Donation can be made to Community Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
