Library hosting virtual Black History Month program

Celebrate Black History Month with the Coshocton Public Library and WOUB Public Media with an exclusive, 30-minute preview of “The Black Church: This is our story, this is our song,” a new series available through PBS.

This series reveals the broad history and culture of the black church and explores African American faith communities on the front lines of hope and change.

Following the preview, participants will have the opportunity to receive insight and remarks about the series from three panelists:

  • Dr. Carolyn Bailey Lewis, Ph.D., the first woman and first African American to lead WOUB Public Media at Ohio University
  • Dr. J.W. Smith, Ph.D., professor of speech communication at Ohio University
  • Dr. Trevellya Ford-Ahmed, Ph.D., professor emeritus, West Virginia State University

This virtual program will be held on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required and can be completed at www.coshoctonlibrary.org.
