Linus Kilchenman
Linus Kilchenman, 79, of Coshocton passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on August 17, 1944 in Dover, Ohio to the late Elmer and Martha (Zumbrunnen) Kilchenman. He graduated from Stone Creek High School and then entered into the United States Army in 1966, serving in Vietnam War until 1968. He went to work at Stone Creek Brick Yard and also had a dairy farm at home. Later, he enjoyed taking care of the cattle at the fair after he no longer raised cattle himself. Linus was a very proud and dedicated veteran. He served on multiple honor guards, performing at funerals, sold poppy flowers to honor fallen soldiers, marched in parades and never missed a veteran’s flag at a cemetery. He was a leader in the Voice of Democracy essay contest in our local schools. He served as district commander, twice at the VFW Post 1445 and was a member for the VFW Post 1330.
Linus is survived by his wife, Cheryle (Mitchell) Kilchenman, who he married on February 22, 2007; children, Todd (Melissa) Kilchenman of West Lafayette, Tonia (Charles) McPhillen of Gilmore, Miguel Berrios of Coshocton, David (Christina) Berrios of Fresno and Jason (Dena) Berrios of South Gate, Michigan; grandchildren, Hayden, Grace, Chelsea, Clarissa, Courtney, Miguel III, Brendan, Mariah, Emmanuel, Christian, Brooke, Antonio, and Dylan; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Mario, Maya, Jace, Joseph and Luke; siblings, Ruth Ann Ladrach and Linda Miller and mother-in-law, Eileen Mitchell.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Clara (May) Kilchenman and grandson, David James Berrios.
Calling hours will at The Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Tom Hendershot officiating. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park.
