Local Bounty Update

| December 10, 2015

Good Morning,

Don’t let the warmer weather fool you. Christmas is right around the corner! Get your locally-made gifts this year right at Local Bounty! Open Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Classes:

Katie Bakes cookie class

December 19 starting at 1 p.m.

Katie Bakes will do all the baking, mixing and clean up, leaving all the fun for you to decorate and take home a half dozen Christmas cookies.  No need to go out and buy any supplies, who wants to add any more shopping stress this season? Everything you need to decorate will be at the class, just bring you, and maybe a friend!

Class is for decorators age 15 and over.  Cost is $25

Vendor Updates:

Keene Creek Farm

The Christmas season is in full-swing and we are trying to help with your gift-giving options. We have stocked our shelves with pizza dough mixes and a Christmas version of Aunt M’s Monster Mix (featuring red and green M&Ms and white chocolate chips). These little treats make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, bus drivers, card clubs, etc. Our freezer of pastured pork is also restocked. The ham loaf makes up into a delicious quick dinner or form it into small balls and smother in BBQ sauce for an easy appetizer. As you plan your Christmas/New Year’s feasts and have a particular pork cut request, please let us know. If we don’t have it in our Local Bounty freezer, we may have it on the farm in our warehouse freezer and would be happy to deliver it to Local Bounty and reserve it for you. Merry Christmas season to you all.

Strawberry Hill Farm

Our gardens are beginning their long winter snooze. The kale is still growing (slowly), but because of orders this week we will not have any at the store. We should have more kale at Local Bounty next week. We have added more strawberry jam to the shelves and free range eggs to the cooler. Mary has also baked more buttery shortbread for your holiday eating. It has only four ingredients: butter, flour (non-GMO), powdered sugar, and a little salt, but it tastes delicious. Shortbread freezes well, so you can buy some now and serve it later. And don’t forget, you can place orders by emailing strawberryhillfarm1@gmail.com or calling 740-545-7828

Thank you as always,
