Local Bounty Update

| July 19, 2016

COSHOCTON – Customer Appreciation Day is Saturday July 30th. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please come join us for beef sliders from Young Farms, deviled eggs by Verda, honey by Dick Mullet and more. We hope to see you here! Our garden has purple kale, patty pans, zucchini, sweet heart hot peppers, basil, beets, and more in this week. Woolf Farms has peaches, blueberries and sweet corn in this week.

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

Our chickens are doing well.  We have three mama hens sitting on eggs.  They stay faithfully on those nests day and night.  It’s so hard to not count those chickens before they are hatched!

We are bringing more eggs, and some black bean brownies to Local Bounty today.

Please remember our Customer Appreciation Day, Saturday, July 30th. We hope to see you then.

Thanks for your support.

Strawberry Hill Farm

We were happy for several rain showers in the past week at the farm. Along with drip irrigation that Ron set up a week and a half ago, they seem to be perking up the crops. It’s been tough for growing things in this summer’s dry weather! This week at Local Bounty we have fresh herbs, green beans, and kale in the cooler, besides a good supply of eggs from our hens on pasture. And we always have strawberry jam on our shelves.

From Grandmason’s Pastured Poultry

This year I would like to offer NonGMO pastured turkeys for Thanksgiving.   I am planning on filling only pre-orders  – although I may have one or two extras(don’t plan on that though).  The turkeys should run about 10 pounds and will be $5.00/lb.    You will have to make a deposit of $20.00(non-refundable) and place your order at Local Bounty no later than August 12.   Turkeys should be ready for pickup about one week before Thanksgiving.  A notice will be posted when the pickup time is firmed up.    Thank you for you business.

As always thank you for your support.
