Vendor Updates

Strawberry Hill Farm

Bounty is the word for right now at the farm! Today we’ve brought cherry and paste tomatoes, yellow summer squash, beets, arugula, kale, and green onions to the store. Enjoy the cooler weather and the local summer bounty!

Flying Pig Farm

A big thank you to all the people that enjoyed Customer Appreciation Day and Farm First Friday with us. We had fun meeting and visiting with you! We still have fresh blackberry jam at the store. Stock up today! Fun fact: Our heritage breed chickens roam freely wherever they wish. (The only tractors on our farm run on gas.) They are locked in coops overnight for safety and supplemented with non-GMO grain; but during the day they follow the cows around, visit us at the house and try their hardest to get into the garden. Yes we have predator issues so if we’d like to harvest 40 chickens, we purchase 50 and expect to lose a couple. If we end up with extras, we save them for laying hens. We believe our animals should live the way we want too: Happy and free. Try some chicken this week. The flavor can’t be beat!

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

An egg is the perfect snack for raising your energy level without raising your blood sugar.  With 6 grams of complete protein per 70 calories each, an egg is low-fat, and has almost no sugar, about half a gram in a hard-boiled egg. Just be sure to keep hard-boiled eggs refrigerated. A fresh egg in the shell can last five or six weeks in the fridge, but a hard-boiled egg is only good for about a week in the fridge!

We will bring in more fresh eggs this week on Wednesday and some sourdough bread.

We thank you for buying our products and for shopping at Local Bounty.

Keene Creek Farm

We will have some of our pastured pork cuts restocked this week. But others will be out until the next time we butcher in October (such as mild Italian brats, bacon and more). Over the past year, we’ve experienced a shift in supply/demand and it is taking us awhile to adjust to that again. So we appreciate your patience as we finish up this next batch of hogs. Thanks so much for supporting our family’s farm. We are grateful for the opportunity to help feed you and yours.

As Always Thank You For Your Support
