Local Bounty Shoppers- A good, crisp, cool morning to all! Here’s what you’ll find in the market this week…
Carson House – the Lozowskis
More ground lamb is now available. We will also have fresh greens, cabbage and probably some broccoli will also be available this week.
Crumb Artisan Breads – A.J. West
This week we’ll have our rustic loaf and flax and oat loaf as usual, and pretzel buns will be on the shelves just in time for burger season – these are great with a juicy burger and a slice of cheese. A small number of sourdough loaves will be ready this week, too.
Keene Creek Farm – the Mulletts
We harvested some Romaine lettuce and herbs (basil and dill) for the cooler this week. For some reason the hens have slacked off laying (wish I could just get lazy sometimes…), so we will only have a couple dozen eggs to share this week. Please Note: Our pork products have moved. All of our pork is now in a chest freezer just inside the door at Local Bounty. Hopefully the new arrangement will make it easier to locate exactly what you’re looking for. Little piggies will be back in stock next week, along with cheese brats.
Rosemary’s Baked Goods – Rosemary McFarland
Rosemary will stock her shelves with her normal goodies this week. But, they’ll be in a different location. Her shelf is now on the left side of the store as you enter the market.
Windy Hill Berry Farm & Vineyard
Hello, folks. If you missed out on our strawberries last week, don’t worry. We will be bringing more. We will also be offering rhubarb, spinach (get it before it’s gone until the fall), romaine, lots of free range eggs, and for the first time this summer–a limited amount of zucchini and yellow squash. Our quick bread of the week is Rhubarb-Pecan and once again we’ll have homemade English muffins (customers give rave review). Try these toasted and topped with either our blackberry or raspberry jams. Chicken joke of the week: What do chickens grow on? Eggplants!
